C Heart Ranch, located east of Lake Oahe and the Missouri River, offers some of the most beautiful sunsets you have ever seen. The sun sets peacefully on the foothills just across the lake that are part of the Cheyenne River Sioux Indian Reservation. The next best thing to an evening sunset over Lake Oahe are the summer lightning storms that seem to bounce off the water.
Where the River dramatically widens near the bottom of the image is where Oahe Dam was constructed. Mobridge is located about 80 miles north of the dam, on the east bank. With it's many inlets, Lake Oahe offers some of the best Walley, Pike, and Northern fishing in the world. Fishing season extends through the winter as many flock to Lake Oahe for ice fishing.
